Radiographic Analysis for Implants
Kim Jae-Duk

Abstract
To perform the implant procedure successfully, dentists first need to evaluate bone pathology and bone density. Then they need to assess the alveolar bone¡¯s exact height, its buccolingual width, and the alveolar process contour on the radiograph. Important anatomical landmarks must also be confirmed:the inferior wall of the maxillary sinus in maxilla and the mandibular canal in mandible area prerequisites. This paper discusses the roles of recent radiographic modalities (panoramic radiography, conventional CT with dental software and cone beam CT) in planning implant treatment.
